Handling Kids' Perfectionism
What’s a parent to do when you notice your child’s perfectionism?
You watch your child yell “It’s awful!” and rip up their perfectly good drawing or scream “I’m the worst reader ever!” after mispronouncing one word on a page.
Well, change starts by realizing *we don’t have to get rid of the perfectionism* - in fact, we don’t want to. Trying to convince a child that they don’t have to be perfect or trying to explain perfectionism away... well, it only makes things worse.
In this video, I walk through a concrete strategy that *does* help - and I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up helping you along the way, in changing your relationship with your own self-critical voice.
